Chapman Park & Splash Pad Updates:
It has been the dream of the Stanley Community Association Founders Kristi and Lance to bring a splash pad to the city of Stanley. They have felt that this is a need that our community needs to residents of all ages. This would be a great addition to the city scape once installed. It has also been the collective goal of the Stanley Community Association to improve the playground equipment in Chapman Park. The last time any update were made to the playground equipment was 35+ years ago. It is time for new. It is time for an update. It is time for a playground that is not only family friendly but inclusive for children of all ability levels. Please help us make this playground a reality by donating to our Playground Donation Fund. Tax Deductible Donations can be mailed to our P.O Box.
SUMMER 2022 PROJECTS:
If you’ve been to Chapman Park lately, you may have noticed we have given some of the playground area a little makeover. We want to thank everyone who helped with these projects, as we couldn’t have done it without you!
First to thank is BBS blasting service in Stanley for donating all the time and resources to sandblast the metal equipment and the concrete memorial that will be repainted as soon as possible. It was very generous and was essential in getting the project rolling.
We thank Dan Nitz for pressure washing the wooden equipment. It took many hours and we appreciate it greatly.
Dean Schneider, we thank you for using your own personal time to paint the three metal pieces of equipment. Not to mention helping move/pressure wash picnic tables for Trulena Schneider to paint and for hanging the swings. Trulena has painted almost every wooden table and bench in the park. You two truly are gems!
Big thank you to ABE concrete for donating the sand to fill in those low areas under some of the equipment and to Rich Abramczak for getting it put where it needed to go. Also thanks to Rich and Ken for hauling and shoveling all the mulch out onto the playground.
Thank you to all the SCA members and friends that helped stain the wooden playset. It was amazing to see so many people contribute to this project.
Last but not least, thank you to anyone who has come to our fundraising events or who has contributed to our events or playground fund. We couldn’t have done it without the money you helped us raise. We will continue to raise money for our goal of new, inclusive playground equipment.
